H & J’s Intimate Elopement: A Beautiful Celebration of Love

Have you ever been part of an elopement so special it felt like every moment was pure magic? That’s exactly how we felt capturing H & J’s elopement.

Back in November, we shared an offer for free services to LGBTQ+ couples who were looking to expedite their elopement before the new year. H & J reached out, sharing their plans to head to the courthouse but hoping for something a bit more memorable. We eagerly stepped in to help capture their elopement and offered to officiate their ceremony as well. It was an opportunity to make their day even more personal and meaningful, and we were so honored to play a part in bringing their vision to life.

Their ceremony took place on their newly purchased property—a picturesque setting with wide-open fields, a serene dock overlooking the water, and a bamboo forest tucked into the woods. They kept things beautifully intimate, with just the two of them and their two dogs as their only witnesses.

As we walked with them to the dock, the excitement and joy were palpable. Before exchanging vows and rings, they burned bay leaves—a heartfelt ritual symbolizing their love and commitment. Witnessing them share their vows was truly powerful; it was a celebration of love, resilience, and gratitude for the life they were building together.

Once the ceremony was complete, we signed the marriage license and spent the afternoon exploring their property. H & J frolicked through the fields, wandered into the bamboo forest, and strolled hand-in-hand through the woods. Each moment we captured was filled with their genuine love and excitement.
